EMAIL

Change your E-mail.

Usage:

/msg Q@CServe.quakenet.org EMAIL <password> <email@address.com> <email@address.com>

Parameters:

  • <password> - Your account password. This is to verify your identity while changing your email address.
  • <email@address.com> - Your email address. The address should be written twice for validation.

Additional info:

Your email is used if you have forgotten your password (using the REQUESTPASSWORD command) and want to get it by email. Your Q account password is needed for verification purposes. It's NOT possible to view other users' email addresses.

Note: The email address should be written twice and not copy-pasted. This is to verify that you have written the email address correctly, and not copy-paste a mistake.

For security reasons, the command should be sent to Q@CServe.quakenet.org and not Q.

After executing the command, an email will be sent to the old address with the ability to RESET the email address to the old email address. After the email has been changed, other critical settings (e.g. account password or email address) can't be changed for a few days due to security reasons, it can only be RESET.

Always verify that your email address is up-to-date using the WHOAMI command.

Requirements:

To use the EMAIL command you must be authed to an account.

Examples:

This will change the email address to hello@world.com for account with password xYz123:

`/msg Q@CServe.quakenet.org EMAIL xYz123 hello@world.com hello@world.com`

Wrong usage:

Trying to send the command to Q:

`/msg Q EMAIL xYz123 hello@world.com hello@world.com`
`-Q- To prevent sensitive information being accidentally send to malicious users`
`-Q- on other networks, when using the email command, you must use`
`-Q- /msg Q@CServe.quakenet.org.`

Trying to set an email address you have not written down the same:

`/msg Q@CServe.quakenet.org EMAIL xYz123 hello@world.com world@hello.com`
`-Q- Sorry, but first and second email addresses don't match`
