Q Auth changes

Posted by cro on Friday 05 April 2002

With the imminent rollout of a new channel service on QuakeNet, we're making a change to the way Q works with the AUTH command. The new service only allows one AUTH per user session. This means you will only be able to auth with a different account if you disconnect from QuakeNet altogether. We've implemented a change in Q that only allows you to have one AUTH account active at a time now. This does not stop you from having multiple accounts, but you will only be able to use one at a time. We will be making the change in about a week's time, so you have until then to ask the relevant channel owners to reassign any flags you may have in different accounts.

The Opers will not under any circumstances move flags from one Q Auth to another - you must do this for yourself. We will post another notice the day before we apply the patch.
