New service bot called "T" scans for trojans

Posted by Flash on Tuesday 14 May 2002

You may have seen our new service, T, joining and parting your channels. T will join the top 80 channels on QuakeNet with more than 150 users automatically and scan for trojans. If it finds any it will gline for one hour. As it is fully automatic you cannot request it.

great idea as trojans are a real problem m00 :[

don\'t you find that in the big channels you get a lot or repeated people /players because the big channels are the big gaming places, so it\'s not actually checking anymore users than normal?

*coff* damn / key didn\'t work, not that would have made a difference;) [too early]

Very nice indeed. One more testament to the fact that QuakeNet genuinely cares about its users. Keep up the good work.

Nice new bot, What about making a C (clan bot) with war features and all the rest. Quakenet hhas been lacking them and i am sure Qnet will make the best

nice idea. why not extend this service to all channels in future? i know, this takes time and work :)

Shape|KKU said on Tuesday 28 May 2002

I dont think the big problem is to make it join all chans i think it will take up to much bandwith.

wtf is trojans ???

PyRo- said on Monday 12 August 2002

wtf how do i remowe a trojan i get this mess then im g-lined [16:42:00] • You are infected with a trojan, please clean your PC (ID: 170)

apa|klen said on Thursday 17 June 2004

And I just happen to get a G-Lined IP... Would be nice to get a hint on that on connect or on the website. My systems are not trojan-compatible anyway :P

kathid said on Thursday 29 July 2004

I must say i personally don\'t like the new function. University where i study supplies about 28.000 stuydents with a connection, but has only 4 external IPs. If T GLine\'s one of them for that reason, i can forget IRC for a while if that\'s just one of the 4 i was on (we can\'t just pick which one we want). Ain\'t there really no other way?
