Growing fast

Since we broke the 100,000 barrier only two weeks ago, QuakeNet has continued to grow at a remarkable rate. We've already managed to move up to being the third largest IRC network in the world (by users average), and we're rapidly gaining on DALNet in terms of maximum users overall - as today we broached the 110,000 user mark for the first time.

Is this really great news? I have had my first netsplit on quakenet ever 2 days ago! I hope it won\'t grow anymore cause then we\'ll have to switch irc server to an more stable server, and that would be a shame cause quakenet where the best once!!!

Yes today we broke the Record of 110,000 and 2 Weeks we will brake the Record of 300,000 and in 3 years the Net will belong to the Quakenet, it wont be the Internet anymore but the Quakenet ;)

grence: netsplits are a fact of life and are totally outside our control. IRC also relies on the internet to carry it\'s traffic, and if a link between two servers drops, then there\'s not really a lot we can do.

and the best part is, services actually work here, unlike dalnet where it takes 3 days before services finally op you, and then you realise 5 minutes lag is unbearable and have to reconnect
