Server upgrades

Posted by Ferg on Thursday 04 September 2003

QuakeNet's development team has released a new version of Asuka (the QuakeNet IRCd). Due to this, all QuakeNet servers will be upgraded during the coming week, and throughout this period you should expect some very brief periods of disruption on the network. Just be patient, keep chatting and QuakeNet will be back to normal very quickly.

Thanks for your continuing support.

#2 - This appears to be a bufix release, more than a features one, and in fact has very few changes. See for yourself - http://dev-com.quakenet.org/releases/asuka/1.0.5/asuka-1.0.5.diff

And... I was hoping that channel-wide notices, mostly used for spamming, had been blocked in this release. But it seems like they haven\'t. =(

I think this is the same directory style of EFnet and a few others. http://irchelp.org/irchelp/ircd/ for example.. I believe the opers will notice the changes more :)
